Can derma rolling damage a tattoo or make it disappear? (expert advice as well as anecdotal, most welcome!)?

-

I have just started using a derma roller treatment for my face and the results are already very good – my skin looks much more even and acne scarring is almost invisible…so I will continue with this. I want to try using the derma roller for stretchmarks though. I understand this works best with a more pressurised and longer needle size (1.5 to 2mm seem to be what most recommend) so I am planning to try it with some anaesthetic cream (which I don’t need for my face). I have stretch marks on my hips and top of my legs and bottom…so that part will take a while and some coordination! But also I have stretchmarks on my boobs but my boobs are tattooed with a tribal design (black outlines with pastel colour shading) and I’m concerned that if I try working on the stretchmarks on my boobs with a weekly session or something, it might affect my tattoo or cause damage to it or make it disappear??? Any advice on this or experiences of this would be most helpful.

What worries me is that derma rolling is meant to trigger the body to release collagen for repair and break down old scarring/collagen concentration…and I vaguely think that when you get a tattoo, it is held in place by the collagen as ‘heals’…I’m pretty sure I’ve heard of some peoples’ bodies rejecting tattoo ink because their collagen didn’t hold onto it??

I almost think I’m answering my own question here! But I would like advice of derma rolling or tattooist or people who work with tattoo removal if possible!

Look forward to hearing from you XX

PS…this is a duplicate post so I could put in two different categories)
I haven’t had any response yet – there must be someone out there who knows enough about tattoos…or enough about derma rolling to have an idea. Please respond best acne removal treatments

I answered your other post in much more detail. There are some tips on my website http://dermaeraze.co.uk

Polls: Yes, there are more than one included in this…?

-

Poll 1: Who loves Bare Minerals as much as I’ve discovered I do? That stuff is amazing! Or if you tried it and don’t like it, what DO you like better?

(I had horrible acne since the time I was 10 years old, and I’m nearly 20 now. I still have it to a degree but the worst are my acne scars. I want everyone to know what I know now. It can be pricey but you CAN buy it off of ebay for a good price. It has worked for me when NOTHING else did. It covers as it heals and rejuvenates your skin. If micro-dermabrasion, topical creams and washes, the dermatologist, or accutane dont work for you (because none did for me) Please try BARE MINERALS it may just work for you)

Poll 2: What color nail polish do you think is the best for everyday ware? If you decide on a color, what brand is it?

(Mine is Sally Hanson French tip nail kit…works like a charm)

Poll 3: What is your favorite at home beauty treatment?

(mine is any type of facial…so relaxing)

Lastly, Poll 4: What is, in your opinion, the best line of cleansing products? Face wash, blemish removal, age fighting, moisturizer, etc.?

(mine is Burt’s Bees…kind of expensive but there’s nothing like it)

Hopefully this will help some of you to have the beautiful skin that I never did. Thanks for your answers!!!

1: I have barely used anything else since I 1st tried Bare Minerals
2: OPI is the bet brand but I change my color weekly. They’re blue this week. To be tame, I’d say french mani.
3: Manicures. I enjoy doing my own nails and do a much better job that anyone I’ve ever paid to do it. I shoulda been a manicurist!
4: A dermatologist once told me to just use Ivory or Dial, basic soap so I don’t bother with all the cleansers. I usually just use a bit of my shampoo or those Biore towellettes.
